2020 Christmas Toy Drive

The Food bank’s goal is to ensure every child in Igloolik, has at least one gift to unwrap this holiday season.

Join us in helping the Igloolik Food Bank bring the spirit of Christmas to children in Igloolik…. a remote Inuit hamlet in Canada’s High Arctic.

Toy Shortfall

Unfortunately we are facing a shortfall of many toys below the 950 goal. Because the mailing deadline has now past, and to help meet the toy drive goal, we are switching to online fundraising. Dollars raised will be deposited into the Igloolik food bank Northern account (via FN) to purchase missing toys, needed supplies, maybe a pot of caribou stew for volunteers on distribution day and/or gas if porch delivery is needed.

Any surplus dollars, will roll into the Igloolik Food bank’s regular food aid programming.

Thanks to awesome people like you, $3,090 has been raised so far !!! Of this, $2,958.48 has been deposited into the Igloolik Food Bank Northern account. ($131.52 PayPal fees.) Igloolik Christmas Hampers and volunteers

Thank You Baffinland !

Thanks to the generosity of Baffinland Iron Mines, the Igloolik food bank did not need to fundraise for Christmas Dinner Hampers this year. Nope, not one penny! … Because Baffinland provided all the fixin’s to make Christmas Dinner to each and every household in Igloolik. Woot !! Right on !! Good Stuff !!

… the Spirit of Christmas doesn’t stop there … in total, Baffinland donated nearly 1,600 Christmas dinner hampers, to each and every household in Arctic Bay, Clyde River, Igloolik, Pond Inlet, and Sanirajak.

… and there is more … during the course of the pandemic, Baffinland also provided each household throughout the North Baffin Communities with food vouchers and cleaning supplies too!

High Five to Baffinland !!! and huge shout out to all the hardworking volunteers in each community, that organized and distributed these important donations. You guys rock !!
