Qulaut Message of Appreciation – Feeding Nunavut – January 2017 (2)

Feeding Nunavut is pleased, honoured and humbled by this message of appreciation from The Honourable George Qulaut, MLA.

Feeding Nunavut success is because of the dedication and hard work of volunteers that donate their time and talents to community-based food aid programs in Nunavut, and because of an incredible team of supporters from across Canada and around the globe that help to fund these programs. People, schools and organizations regularly open their wallets, run fundraisers and pass-the-hat to generously support these very important programs in Nunavut.

It was a privilege for Feeding Nunavut to be part of the 2016 Igloolik Christmas Hamper team. Igloolik’s Elder Marie, Dana Barker Sheaves and a team of 25 volunteers, organized the program at the community level, Taye Newman rallied supporters from across North America, and as far away as Germany, to provide funding to help fill each hamper with all the fix’in to make Christmas dinner as well as extra food to be shared over the holidays…. and every child 12 years and under received a toy for Christmas!  It truly was a magically Christmas! Thank you to everyone on the team that helped to make the hampers so successful!

… and thank you to the Honourable George Qulaut, your kind words and recognition of the work being done by the Feeding Nunavut team, in and outside of the territory, is very much appreciated.
